SOS Children’s Villages adalah organisasi sosial nirlaba non-pemerintah yang aktif dalam mendukung hak-hak anak dan berkomitmen memberikan anak-anak yang telah atau beresiko kehilangan pengasuhan orang tua kebutuhan utama mereka, yaitu keluarga dan rumah yang penuh kasih sayang. 

SOS Children’s Villages didirikan oleh Hermann Gmeiner, seorang mahasiswa kedokteran yang tergerak hatinya ketika melihat begitu banyak anak terlantar dan kehilangan hak pengasuhan mereka dikarenakan Perang Dunia ke - 2.

Hermann lalu mendirikan Asosiasi SOS Children's Villages pada tahun 1949 dan di tahun yang sama peletakan batu pertama dilakukan untuk SOS Children's Villages pertama di Imst, Austria. Pada tahun 1960, SOS Children's Villages International berdiri di Strasbourg sebagai organisasi payung bagi SOS Children's Villages dengan dirinya sebagai Presiden pertama.

SOS Children's Villages telah bekerja secara aktif di 136 negara dan mengasuh lebih dari 80,000 anak di seluruh dunia.
