UI UX Designer Freelance  

Role overview:
We are looking for a UX designer to shape the user experience for our Islamic products portfolio (Ziswaf + Qurban). You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to design intuitive and engaging experiences that respect Islamic values and meet market needs. This role requires a creative mindset, strong design fundamentals, and the ability to iterate based on feedback and data. This is a 3 months freelance role with the possibility to be renewed.

Key responsibilities:

Design delivery:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that validated design concepts are implemented effectively.
• Maintain design consistency by contributing to or creating design systems and guidelines.

Design discovery:

• Translate research insights into design opportunities that address real problems.
• Collaborate with product manager & UX researcher to engage deeply with users to understand their needs, behaviors, and pain points through interviews, surveys, and usability tests.

Concept development and prototyping:

• Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that reflect a clear vision for the user experience.
• Iterate designs based on user feedback and data insights, maintaining a willingness to pivot during the discovery phase.

Stakeholder management and collaboration:

• Facilitate discussions and design reviews, ensuring that stakeholders feel heard and valued throughout the process.
• Secure buy-in for design decisions that align with both user needs and business objectives.

Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:

Must have:

• Strong design sense: Demonstrated ability to uncover user needs and translate them into engaging and effective design solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration: Clear and persuasive in both written and visual presentations, and experienced in working with cross-functional teams.
• Solid foundational experience: 3+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design projects.

Should have:

• Technical proficiency: Expertise in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Miro, etc.) and a good understanding of front-end development constraints.
• Familiarity with agile processes: Experience working in agile environments, iterating designs quickly based on feedback and performance data.
• A track record of designing a fairly successful product.

Nice to have:

• Experience designing for fintech or social impact platforms: Prior exposure to designing for financial services, donation platforms, or culturally specific products.
• Prior experience with Islamic products: Understanding of cultural and religious nuances that influence design decisions for Islamic audiences.
