About this Position

We are looking for a Lead Upstream & Processing House to strengthen Astro’s direct fresh produce sourcing ecosystem by building closer partnerships with farmers and upstream suppliers. This role combines field execution, operational leadership, and analytical decision-making to drive lower COGS, improve packing house efficiency, and ensure reliable, high-quality supply through a stronger direct sourcing network.

Job Description

As our Astronaut, your missions are:

• Lead Astro’s direct sourcing strategy by acquiring and managing partnerships with farmers, rural traders, and upstream vendors
• Conduct regular visit to horticulture production centers across Jabodetabek and West Java (Garut, Cianjur, Lembang, Pangalengan, Sukabumi) to identify farmers, rural traders, and cooperatives with vendor potential.
• Negotiate pricing and supply agreements to achieve lower COGS through more efficient direct sourcing
• Oversee packing house operations to improve fulfillment rate, production efficiency, and cost optimization
• Analyze operational, vendor, and inventory data to drive sourcing and supply chain decisions
• Monitor commodity pricing, harvest cycles, and market trends to support forecasting and sourcing strategy
• Lead and develop the Upstream & Packing House team to ensure strong operational execution
• Drive process improvement initiatives in sourcing, vendor performance, and packing house operations

In order to launch the missions successfully, you need to have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, operations, or upstream/vendor management
• Background from Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Agribusiness, or related disciplines are a plus
• Experience in fresh produce, agriculture, horticulture sourcing, or packing house operations is preferred
• Proven experience working directly with vendors or suppliers, with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to travel frequently and work hands-on in the field across sourcing areas
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate operational data into actionable business decisions
• Strong Excel/spreadsheet skills for data analysis and performance tracking
