Backend Engineer  

About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. You'll be at the forefront of our development lifecycle, working on mission-critical systems that serve both consumers and dealers. This is a hands-on role where you'll ship code daily, leverage data-driven insights, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Engineering

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services
• Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following best practices
• Implement comprehensive unit and functional tests
• Debug and resolve issues across the entire technology stack
• Deploy code to production daily with confidence
• Leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.) to accelerate development

Technical Excellence

• Develop and integrate services using REST, RPC, and SOAP protocols
• Design and implement efficient data structures and algorithms
• Build and maintain microservices with event-driven architecture
• Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve software performance
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards

Collaboration & Impact

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers
• Contribute to technical discussions and architecture decisions
• Deliver data-driven software solutions and analytics
• Focus on creating exceptional value for customers

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 2+ years of professional software development experience

Technical Skills

• Core Programming
• Expert-level proficiency in Go (Golang)
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles

Database Technologies

• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS-SQL)
• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, Cassandra, MongoDB)
• Experience with in-memory databases (Redis, Memcached)
• Solid understanding of database design principles

Architecture & Integration

• Experience building microservices architectures
• Knowledge of event-driven systems using message brokers (Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ)
• Proficiency in API development, integration and documentation

Development Practices

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Proficient with Git version control branching strategies
• Strong testing mindset (unit, integration, functional testing)
• Technical documentation skills

• Track record of debugging complex, production-level issues across the full stack
• Proven ability to build clean, well-tested, and maintainable codebases
• 2+ years of production experience with Go (Golang)
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Performance benchmarking, optimization, and monitoring expertise
• Experience using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.)

Frameworks & Technologies

• Go ecosystem: Gin framework experience
• Additional frameworks: .NET, Python Django
• Container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD pipeline implementation (GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipeline)
