Network Engineer  

1. Network Monitoring

1. 1. Assure network connectivity at all times (LAN and WAN);
   2. Perform daily status and network health monitoring of link and network equipment for NCR and Luzon sites;
   3. Perform maintenance of network monitoring system such as, but not limited to, WhatsUp Gold and Packeteer PacketShaper;
   4. Determine protocols and nodes that contribute to system slowdown and bottleneck within the network;
   5. Identify potential problems, evaluate them and implement appropriate actions to resolve the problem;
   6. Escalate network problems to the Manager – Head, Network Administration after all possible solutions at her level have been exhausted;
   7. Escalate to other concerned support groups such as DBA, Systems Administration, Information Security and Applications Development if problem found is not within the Department’s control;
   8. Provide initial coordination and follow-ups with service staff of Telco providers regarding reported troubled link during the first 4 hours of outage or first 8 hours of unstable connection; and,
   9. Log daily network status and generates reports and submits to Manager – Head, Network Administration for reference and documentation.

2. Telco & Network Equipment (Assigned Region/s)

3. 1. Perform onsite setup of network equipment and link activation (IPVPN/VSAT/Wireless);
   2. Provide support activities;
   3. Occasional site inspection and/or survey for new sites or transferred sites if required;
   4. Dispatch to site if replacement of managed equipment or onsite problem isolation is required;
   5. Implement network equipment configuration and security per region through access-control lists, SSH access, correct login passwords, and AAA configurations; and,
   6. Perform backup of network equipment configuration on a quarterly basis or as the need arises due to configuration changes.

3. Cabling/LAN

1. Inspect and perform testing of cable installations for new and transferred sites as may be required; and,
2. Conduct initial isolation of cabling problems at offices and escalates if problem requires cable re-installation.

Other Tasks:

1. Assist in isolating IPSec/SSL-VPN related concerns/issues and escalates to the Manager – Head, Network Administration in-charge unresolved matters;
2. Assist in isolating wireless access related concerns/issues and escalates to the Manager – Head, Network Administration in-charge unresolved matters;
3. Research, evaluate, and conduct demo of new technology or equipment that may contribute to the enhancement of the network system;
4. Assist in cabling support and maintenance;
5. Assist in the maintenance of the telephone system and provides user support if needed;
6. Review summary of billing statements and requests for payment for leased lines and telephone lines prepared by Executive Secretary for Systems Operations prior submission to Manager – Head, Network Administration for review and approval;
7. Prepare the weekly and monthly network availability reports and submit to both Manager – Head, Network Administration for reference;
8. Comply with the required behavioral and grooming standards prescribed by the Company;
9. Always demonstrate professionalism in the workplace;
10. Always ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; and,
11. Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

• Bachelor ‘s Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any related course
• Experience in Cloud Platform/s (MS Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Cisco Certification – CCNA

• Must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience

• Knowledge in Cabling, installation and configuration of Cisco network equipment, relative experience with Telco system (Internet, IPVPN, PABX)

• Familiarity with LAN analysis and network monitoring tools
