Cost and Fixed Assets Accounting Lead  

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective Cost Accounting team and systems that can help support the requirements of manufacturing to reduce costs and improve overall profitability.

• Continuously identify and drive cost-saving initiatives related to Manufacturing Overhead to improve operational efficiency and profitability.

• Lead the monthly review of actual expenses charged to manufacturing overhead cost centers, ensuring validity, accuracy, and proper allocation of costs.

• Conduct proactive analysis of material price variances by plant to identify the most cost-effective sources of Raw and Packaging Materials (RMPM).

• Analyze usage variances by performing detailed reviews of process order transactions; recommend adjustments to scrap factors and operational controls to minimize waste.

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of cost recognition by validating that all relevant costs are properly recorded, charged, and/or accrued within the reporting period.

• Lead initiatives to assign accountable owners to each cost center, strengthening cost governance, approval controls, and financial accountability.

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline Cost Accounting workflows, enhance reporting accuracy, and increase overall efficiency.

• Coach, train, and mentor direct reports on Cost Accounting principles, systems, and best practices to strengthen team capability.

• Develop team members into future Accounting and Finance leaders through structured coaching, performance management, and succession planning initiatives.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting

• At least 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (Finance, Business Administration, etc.)

• Comprehensive knowledge of cost variance analysis

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Standard Costing, Moving Average Price, Process Order, and Cost Center Accounting

• Strong working knowledge of the SAP Cost Accounting module

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, reporting)
