Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:
The Campus Minister plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates spiritual formation programs and activities for the students and employees of the Junior High School. The position supports the University’s aim to hone and enrich the community’s talents and character through structures and age-appropriate opportunities guided by the Ignatian tradition and pedagogy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
I. Spiritual Formation
- Designs, promotes, facilitates, and implements spiritual formation programs, particularly but not limited to, recollections and retreats in line with the office mission and goals
- Manages all logistical preparation, module presentations and mass assignments during recollections/retreats
- Recruits, orients, and performs follow-ups on facilitators and staff of recollections/retreats
- Provides individual or group spiritual accompaniment and guidance
- Serves as moderator/adviser to different groups in the AJHS upon request and approval of the Director
II. Administrative Support
- Prepares reports, budget, presentations and other documents for respective programs in consultation with concerned persons and/or teams
- Attends regular meetings for team planning and evaluation of Campus Ministry programs and activities
- Collaborates with partner offices and departments for integrated formation programs
- Coordinates with resource persons, priests, and participants for the implementation of the formation programs
III. Liturgical Coordination Support
- Serves as the OCM point person for the school-wide liturgical celebrations, overseeing its planning and preparations
- Participates as a sacristan or server, lay minister, or commentator as needed
- Ensures all logistical requirements are prepared, including selection and coordination with main presiders
- Coordinates with various stakeholders (Formation Coordinators, Class Moderators, Subject Area Coordinators, and Heads of different student organizations) involved in sponsored Masses
- Assists in organizing and executing the school’s Confirmation and Confession Rites by coordinating schedules of students and facilitators
- Sets up and takes down liturgical books, candles, vessels, and any other necessary materials required for liturgical celebrations performed in the St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel, ensuring that all items are properly arranged and maintained before and after the service
IV. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor, or any authorized representative
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ignatian Spirituality & Formation: Knowledgeable in Ignatian concepts, values, and practices; able to design retreats, recollections, and facilitate spiritual conversations responsive to participants’ needs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Relates, collaborates, and negotiates well across job levels; comfortable engaging with staff, faculty, and administrators.
- Networking & Relationship Management: Builds and sustains productive stakeholder partnerships; facilitates collaboration and adapts to change.
- Communication Skills: Active listener; asks relevant questions; communicates tactfully with diverse personalities.
- Customer Service: Understands client perspectives; responds with urgency; ensures quality service and evaluates satisfaction.
- Technological Savvy: Proficient in MS Office; adept in using IT and online systems to accomplish tasks.
- Time Management: Uses time and resources efficiently and effectively.
- Budget & Resource Management: Projects, monitors, and maintains allocated program and activity budgets.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree Graduate in Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education or Theology; post-graduate degree is an advantage
- Background training related to Ignatian Spirituality, Campus Ministry, or Youth Ministry
- With a 3, 5 or 8-day retreat participation and facilitation experience
- With relevant work experience with student/employee formation programs
