Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and calendar coordination
Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Assist with medical billing, claims follow-ups, and payment posting
Process patient intake forms and maintain electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
Coordinate referrals and prior authorizations
Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, or patient portals
Maintain accurate and updated patient records
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data privacy standards
Perform general administrative tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills / Competencies
Proven experience as a Healthcare VA, Medical VA, or Medical Administrative Assistant
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Kareo, etc.)
Knowledge of medical terminology
Experience in insurance verification and claims processing
Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
High attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a remote setup
Technical Requirements:
Reliable computer/laptop (at least 8GB RAM recommended)
Stable high-speed internet connection
Noise-cancelling headset
Quiet home office setup
Preferred Qualifications:
HIPAA training or certification
Experience supporting US-based healthcare providers
Background in medical billing or coding
