Location: Melbourne, VIC

About the Role:
As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing traditional Japanese sushi dishes with the highest quality and standards. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional dining experience by delivering beautifully crafted and delicious sushi.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi, including maki, nigiri, sashimi, and specialty rolls, with precision and attention to detail.
- Source and select the freshest seafood and ingredients, ensuring top-notch quality and safety.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient sushi station, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the head chef to create innovative sushi dishes and seasonal menus that delight our guests.
- Engage with guests to provide a personalised dining experience, explaining the menu, and making recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications

Obtain a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.

Minimum 2 years experience as a Sushi Chef

Extensive knowledge of traditional sushi-making techniques and Japanese cuisine.

Strong knife skills and the ability to handle raw fish and other seafood with precision.

Possession of a valid English language certificate is mandatory, with a minimum overall score of 5.5 and no individual component scoring below 5.0 in the IELTS test

Successful completion of a Skill Assessment from the appropriate Australian skill assessing authorities may be necessary, contingent on your passport or the location of your placement.
