Job Description

Key responsibilities:

- Build and maintain full stack features across the Literatu product suite, combining elegant front-end design with robust PHP server side API logic.

- Be an active participant in the development lifecycle—design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support—within a collaborative team environment.

- Integrate with internal and third-party APIs, ensuring reliable data exchange and performance.

- Diagnose performance issues across the stack in both new and legacy systems, and deploy fixes with confidence and speed.

What you bring:

- You are familiar with SSO technologies, particularly Google Workspace and Microsoft O365 integrations.

- Experience with Capacitor, PWAs, mobile app deployment is a bonus.

- You thrive in a small, agile team, are comfortable switching contexts, and can work independently as well as collaborating closely with others.

- You’ve worked in Apache-based environments and can navigate Linux systems.

- You understand the importance of clean, maintainable code and are experienced with version control (Github) and debugging.

- Experience with LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) standards and integrations is a bonus.

- Also a bonus is experience with integrating LLMs into backend services via JSON (function calling / structured output), with retries & fallbacks, and full observability for deterministic results.

Minimum Qualifications

- You have relevant tertiary qualifications and 3-4 years of professional experience in a full stack development role

- You are highly proficient in PHP and have experience working on maintaining and improving existing applications.

- You have talent in other languages we used like Python

- You’re comfortable with front-end development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and have experience with modern web components or frameworks, Angular (including Angularjs), and React.

- You’re good with MySQL databases, can write and optimise queries, and understand relational data structures.
